Drug suspect neutralized in Davao

Report on Armed Confrontation with the Drug/Theft Suspect which resulted to his Neutralization in relation to R.A.T.S. TUGIS

Please be informed that on or about 1:10AM of June 29, 2018, SDET members of San Pedro Police Station led by the undersigned conducted joint Anti-Illegal Drugs operation (buy-bust) with pre-ops no. 30004-062018-0209 at Barayco 2, Bankerohan, Brgy.5-A, Davao City against JAY ANTHONY MACABI ROMANO alias “TONING”. During the operation, the said suspect sensed that he was dealing with Police Operatives and without hesitation suspect drew a .22 caliber revolver and shot PO1 Peter Paul Rabia who acted as immediate back up. However, said police officer was not hit and was able to retaliate using his service firearm which resulted to the death of the suspect.

Recovered from the crime scene the .22 caliber revolver without serial number loaded with five (5) live ammunitions and two (2) fired cartridge, one (1) folded newspaper containing suspected marijuana dried leaves with fruiting tops and the 100.00 peso buy-bust money bearing serial no. Z721008 marked with “GRT”.

Furthermore, responding police officer immediately brought the suspect to SPMC for immediate medical attention but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician in the name of Dr. Cecil Malasig at about 1:20AM of same date.

Furthermore, the suspect was also involved in connection with the arrest of JED ROSALES SALONGA, 19 years old, male, single and a resident of Barayco 2, Bankerohan, Brgy.5-A, Davao City as cohort in various theft incident as per divulged by some concerned citizens at Bryco, Bankerohan, Davao City.

2 NPA killed in an attempt to recover a cleared Barangay

On June 27, 2018, 3:25pm., an encounter transpired between 3IB against more or less 30 CNTs believed to be members of PBC 2 and PBC 3 all of SMRC under @ BOBBY at Brgy Carmen, Baguio Dist, Davao City.

At about 5:34pm of the same day, while said troops scouring the encounter site, another encounter ensued against the said CNTs. Sporadic firefight lasted for about five minutes while the first encounter lasted for about two (2) hours. It resulted to One (1) wounded in action on the gov’t side while two (2) enemy killed on the enemy and recovery of one (1) IED. Meanwhile helicopters departed from TOG11 and proceeded to the encounter area to provide CAS to the engaged troops of 3IB.

Wounded soldier was evacuated for medical treatment at Camp Panacan Hospital

Major General Noel S Clement, Commander 10ID commended troops’ accomplishment and said “NPA terrorists are not welcome in a ‘cleared’ barangay. With this, their resurgence was immediately reported to us. We are grateful to the people of Barangay Carmen for their continued support and cooperation in maintaining peace and order.”

Rape suspect is dead

The 35-year old accused of raping and killing a 16-year old girl in Davao City earlier this week has died inside the police precinct where he is detained.

Rape suspect James Narte died after allegedly attempting to grab a gun from his police escort inside the Talomo Police Station in Davao City Thursday morning, GMA Davao’s One Mindanao reported.

Aside from the rape-slay of the minor in Puan, Narte was also accused by two other girls of rape and robbery.

Spot Report on Fatal Shooting Incident.

Please be informed that at around 7:20 A.M. June 28, 2018 a fatal shooting incident transpired at Police Station 3 (Talomo) particularly at the Finger Print/Traffic Section.

According to PO1 Nierca Mutia Ambong, finger print technician that before the incident took place around 7:20 AM, while she was preparing to take the finger prints of one of their detainee identified as James Barette Narte, 35yo, separated, laborer, resident of libby road, Bago Gallera, Davao City and who has a pending case for rape with homicide when suddenly, he viciously attacked and pummelled her while attempting to grabbed the issued firearm of the duty jail guard who was escorting him identified as one PO1 Kathllen Rose Antoneth C. Pelino which was holstered in the latters duty rig.

Thereafter a grappling scenario ensued between the said jail guard and the detainee and as the police officer desperately tried to take control of the situation and the suspect. In the course of their violent scuffle the pistol fired thereby hitting the ceiling and another three shots were fired hitting the wall beside the door.

Hearing the commotion and gun shots, Spo3 Daquigan and Spo2 Dionisio who were in the vicinity quicly responded at the scene wherein, seeing the desperate situation, SPO3 Daquigan defended his almost overwhelmed colleague hitting the suspect.

Immediately thereafter they brought the injured detainee to the nearest Hospital for immediate medical intervention but unfortunately was declared dead by his attending physician Dr Olidan.

Elements of SOCO are still conducting crime scene investigation in the area.
