WHAT: Report re Shooting Incident
WHEN: 12:40 PM of June 26, 2018
WHERE: National Highway along the bridge of Purok Tagumpay, Brgy Binuangan, Maco, Compostela Valley Province
WHO: victim identified as OMAR MACUSANG y ESCOBAR 45 y/o, newly elected Barangay Kagawad of Barangay Pangi
HOW: initial invest conducted disclosed that victim came from the oath taking of the newly elected brgy. Officials at Maco Municipal Gym onboard black Ford Ranger Pick-up, suddenly one Yamaha XTC motorcycle without plate number arrived and shot the left side portion of the vehicle several times hitting the victim on different parts of his body.
Immediately, victim was rushed to Davao Regional Medical Center, Apokon Tagum City by responding personnel of Maco MPS but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
After the incident suspect fled the crime scene PNP personnel detailed security at Maco Municipal Gym encountered the perpetrators and engaged in a firefight and manage to hit the leg but was able to ride the waiting get away motorcycle and fled towards unknown direction.
Recovered from the crime scene were fifteen (15) empty cartridges of unknown caliber and four (4) fired bullets. The Motive as well as the identities of the suspect is yet to be determined. For info and progress report to follow
