Dabawenyo Senator Christopher “Bong” Go is throwing his support on the Duterte Coalition in the Lower House that seeks to unite the lawmakers now divided by the hotly-contested speakership race.
In an interview in Davao City Sunday, July 7, Senator Go said that being a Duterte ally since the beginning he will naturally support whatever the Dutertes decide or do in politics.
He said that he is one with the Dutertes in its effort to unite Congress behind the administration for the betterment of the Filipino people.
Hugpong ng Pagbabago headed by Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte and the Hugpong sa Tawong Lungsod headed by Davao City 1st District Rep. Paolo Duterte created the Duterte Coalition in the House of Representatives (HoR) last week aimed at uniting all congressmen behind the Duterte administration.
It was learned that division in the HoR is very high due to the three pro-administration bets seeking the fourth highest position in the land.
The Dutertes met last Saturday with Reps. Lord Allan Velasco, Alan Peter Cayetano, and Martin Romualdez who are said to be the three frontrunners in the speakership race.
The Duterte Coalition is however pushing for Davao City 3rd Dist. Rep. Isidro Ungab as House Speaker.
