7 inmates escape from DavOr jail, 1 killed

Seven inmates of the Davao Oriental Provincial Jail were sprung by about 25 individuals allegedly belonging to a cult Satuday afternoon. One alleged member of the religious cult Pinatikan was killed in the incident.

In a report by the Mati City Police, the incident happened past two in the afternoon of August 14, 2021. The fully-armed cult members forcibly entered the Davao Oriental Provincial Rehabilitation and Reformatory Center to allegedly rescue their cult leader identified as one Cornelio Galon III.

The jail guards were said to have been caught off-guard thus the successful rescue of Galon and six other inmates.

The six other escapees were identified as Dominador Lintuan, Laudeco Lintuan, Sugaan Gil, Arjowe Lintuan, Ranjay Baluro, and Inabitan Ismadi.

The jail personnel retaliated and killed one alleged member of the said cult. No identification cards were found from the said fatality.

Police and military personnel are still on hot pursuit operation against the escapees and other members of the Pinatikan cult.
