Sara ends country-wide tour

Mayor Sara Duterte Message
Mahalin Natin ang Pilipinas Ride Thanksgiving Dinner

Assalamulaikum. Madayaw. Maayong gabii sa tanan!!!

Finally, we are home. After 28 days of being away from the comforts our homes, away from our families — nakabalik na tayo.

I will never forger the warmth of the people we met along the way. And I will always remember the courage, the strength, and the resiliency they’ve shown us as we passed by — rain or shine.

Shukran. Daghang salamat!!!

UniTeam’s Sara warns public against group soliciting cash from supporters

UniTeam vice presidential candidate and Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte warned the public against a scam where their supporters are supposedly to get an ID card for a minimal amount ranging from 20 to 180 pesos in exchange for an ATM card with an amount of P5,000 coming from UniTeam presidential bet Bongbong Marcos, Jr.

In a press conference in Davao City on Monday, February 28, the presidential daughter said that they do not ask for any membership fee from their supporters nor would they issue an ID and give an ATM card with money in it.

VP candidate Sara Duterte

Mayor Sara Duterte said that such an activity by one group is a scam and refrained their supporters from falling into it.

On Sunday, February 27, two individuals identified as Virginia Almoroto Calape and Nanette V. Denopo were caught by the Davao City Police Office personnel while recruiting members for the UniTeam in Sto. Niño, Matina.

The recruited members reportedly paid P25 to Calape and Denopo for the Uniteam ID card lamination and membership processing.

Authorities recovered cash amounting to P4,895 from the suspects; along with filled-up forms; blank ID cards; certificate of appointment supposedly signed by former secretary Jesus Dureza as lead convenor, and Saida Wong and Edilberto Loquente as convenors; among others.

The Talomo Police coordinated with the UniTeam’s legal team for Davao Region headed by Atty. Joahna Paula Domingo who denied that their group has authorized anyone to use the UniTeam and the name of their presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos Jr. and vice presidential bet Sara Duterte for any activities in soliciting/collecting money from individuals just for ID cards and membership.

Few weeks back, a certain Rogelio Suarez, 52, a resident of Barangay Marapangi, Toril was also arrested by the police for the same reasons.

Suarez was nabbed by police at the Matina Crossing public market after he was reported to be allegedly recruiting members, soliciting and actually collecting money for P20.00 claiming it was for the use of the UniTeam Multisectoral Alliance Movement campaign of Marcos and Duterte-Carpio.

Efforts to get statement from Dureza proved futile as of this writing.

Sara is committed to public service — MisOc guv

DIPOLOG City — Misamis Occidental Governor Philip Tan on Friday vowed to support Sara Duterte’s vice presidential bid.

“We are 100 percent supporting Mayor Sara’s vice presidential bid,” Tan said after he and some officials from his province met with Sara here.

Tan, who has long known Sara, said that he appreciates the mayor’s character from a colleague’s perspective.

“We are old friends. We were colleagues at the League of City Mayors. Buotan si Mayor Sara. Masaligan, matinud-anon and down-to-earth. Angay nato siyang botohan ug suportahan,” he added.

(Mayor Sara is kind, dependable…We should vote for her.)

Friday marked the 26th day of Sara’s Mahalin Natin Ang Pilipinas Ride, reentering Mindanao through Dipolog from the Iloilo stopover where she and presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos conducted a series of sorties.

Joining Sara in the last stretch of the nationwide ride was senatorial candidate Robin Padilla, who was warmly received by supporters.

The two also met with Zamboanga del Norte Gov. Roberto Uy, who said the people of the province will support Padilla.

“Gi-endorse man nimo ni Mayor, among ibutang na sa balota,” said Uy.

(We will vote for him because you endorsed him.)

Sara and Padilla were also hosted by former Congressman Seth Jalosjos, who is running for mayor of Dapitan City.

A rally for Sara and Robin at the Jalosjos-owned Gloria de Dapitan was attended by hundreds of supporters Friday afternoon.

Padilla charmed them with a rendition of Eric Clapton’s Wonderful Tonight. He also told them he would be a loyal ally to Sara just as he was to President Rodrigo Duterte.

“Aasahan ninyo ang katapatan ko kay Mayor Sara — gaya ng katapatan ko kay Pangulong Duterte,” Padilla said.

Tan, the govenor of Misamis Occidental, said he believes that the country needs Sara’s leadership.

“She is strong-willed. She has political will. She is sincere and committed to public service,” the governor said.

In 2019, the province voted straight to all Hugpong ng Pagbabago’s (HNP) senatorial line. This year, the governor said they “will try their best” to do the same.

“We will do our best to replicate the 2019 elections 12-0 votes for senatoriables under the UniTeam,” he said.

Sara thanked the governor and local leaders for their support to all candidates under the UniTeam ticket.

“Nagpasalamat ko sa inyohang tanan sa inyohang pagdala sa amoa sa UniTeam sa Misamis Occidental,” Sara said.

(I am thankful to Misamis Occidental ror supporting the UniTeam.)
