A suspected terrorist involved in several terroristic activities in the Davao Region was arrested by elements of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group of the Philippine National Police in Davao City on Wednesday, February 23, 2022.
The arrested suspect is identified as one Quirwin Lanson, 36 years old, married, and former member of the Pulang Bagani Command 1, Special Operations Group Regional Operations Command of the Southern Mindanao Regional Command of the New People’s Army.
Lanson was arrested in Purok 2B, Upper Dampa in Brgy. Magtuod, Davao City Wednesday morning.
The arresting team was led by P/Lt. Col. Darwin Padla of the CIDG together with the 112th Special Action Force, the Regional Intelligence Unit 11, DCPO-CIU and Talomo Police, who served the warrant of arrest against the accused for FRUSTRATED MURDER.
Lanson was said to have been involved in gathering information in the attack/burning of LAPANDAY Corporation Plastic Plant and the death of fish vendor during IED explosion on April 29, 2017.
He was also said to be involved in the burning of heavy equipment owned by Ulticon Builders Incorporated in Brgy. Callawa, Buhangin Dist., Davao City and burning of one container van in Sitio Banarao, Brgy. Talandang, Tugbok District, Davao City.
The arrested person was properly documented and presently detained at Talomo Police Station.
