First Congressional District Office turned over ‘Lamayan ng Bayan’ & gym to Brgy. Talomo Proper

DAVAO CITY – Officers and members of the Barangay Hall in Talomo warmly welcomed First Congressional District Representative Paolo Duterte’s son Rodrigo Duterte II during the turned-over ceremony of a gymnasium and a funeral home on October 3, Monday morning.

Duterte II, together with the First Congressional District Office staff, arrived at the Talomo’s Barangay Hall Satellite Office at Royal Valley in Bangkal around 10:30 a.m. to formally turn over the “Lamayan ng Bayan” and the gym to the beneficiary.

With the initiative of Rep. Duterte, the “Lamayan ng Bayan” will be the first funeral home to offer an accessible venue to Davao City residents who could not afford decent funeral service for their departed loved ones.

The newly-built gymnasium, turned over to the same barangay, will be utilized for crowd gatherings, assemblies, and activities of the barangay and other local government agencies.

Duterte II said he is glad to be part of the turnover of the Lamayan ng Bayan (the funeral home) and the gym through the efforts of the young congressman and his staff. Along with these structures, the First Congressional District Office donated ten tents to the barangay.

After cutting the ribbon at the Barangay Hall Satellite Office, Duterte II and Rep. Duterte’s staff headed to the main office of the Barangay Talomo Proper, located along Talomo Road, to attend the formal program prepared by the barangay chief, Engr. Bendor Calamba, and his staff.

In a speech, Calamba expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Rep. Duterte and the entire First Congressional District Office staff for all the programs and projects from which the barangay benefitted. He said all the support given by the district office has already helped a lot of people.

“Thank you, congressman Duterte. Thank you, Mr. Rodrigo Duterte II and the entire First Congressional District Office staff. Rest assured that all your support to the barangay will reach thousands of people,” Calamba said in the vernacular.

Duterte II said that Rep. Duterte wishes for the Barangay Talomo to take care of the structures and the tents and to use them properly for everyone’s wellbeing. The congressman also thanked the barangay for its endless support to the First Congressional District Office under his leadership.

According to Rep. Duterte’s staff, more similar structures would be turned over to other areas of Davao City soon. The city’s residents will benefit from these structures, especially the Lamayan ng Bayan.

It’s a thankless job but no regrets for PRRD — Bong Go

As he reassures that the President remains fit and focused on serving the Filipinos until the last day of his term

Senator Christopher “Bong” Go guaranteed that although the burden of the presidency has taken a toll on President Rodrigo Duterte’s health, the latter is in good condition and will continue serving the Filipino people until the last day of his term.

In an ambush interview after the opening of the Center for Thoracic and Critical Care Medicine at the Cardinal Santos Medical Center (CSMC) in San Juan City on Thursday, April 7, Senator Go, being the President’s aide for more than 20 years, cited how President Duterte has been working non-stop and has been only focused on serving the Filipinos even until the last days of his term.

Go also shared how the duties of the head of state really drained President Duterte both physically and mentally. The senator then underscored that it is only normal for the President to feel tired after years of being a public servant.

“During his presidency, talagang piniga siya. Ibig sabihin, mentally, physically and health wise, talagang piniga,” Go emphasized.

“Kapag isa kang Pangulo, talagang pipigain ka talaga. It’s a thankless job pero no regret po si Pangulo dahil ito na ang huling chapter ng kanyang buhay, ibinuhos na nya sa Pilipino. So kahit na medyo… humihina na, at his age, 77 years old… tuloy pa rin ang kanyang pagseserbisyo,” he expressed.

President Duterte was previously seen visiting Cardinal Santos Medical Center, which had raised concerns about his health. Go then mentioned that the President only prioritizes his health to ensure that he will be able to serve the country well.

He likewise reassured Filipinos that there is nothing to worry about with PRRD’s health as the doctors of CSMC have been looking after the latter to ensure that he is physically fit and well to continue carrying out the heavy responsibilities of his office.

“Yung nabalitaan n’yong pumunta dito, normal po na pupunta dito ang Pangulo because 77 years old (na siya). Kailangan na pong magpacheck up,” said Go.

“Physically (fit) to finish his term? Oo, kaya pa and beyond. Oo, in good condition kaya nga sabi ko papasalamat tayo sa Cardinal Santos at kay doktora din po for taking care of his (PRRD’s) health,” Go added.

When asked to elaborate regarding the President’s health status, Go cited that he is no medical expert, advising that it is best to get statements from the President’s doctors instead.

Meanwhile, the senator maintained that he does not know who among the presidential candidates President Duterte will endorse, if any.

“I cannot speak on behalf of the President.

Tawi-Tawi guv says country needs Sara

PASAY CITY — Tawi-Tawi Governor Yshmael “Mang” Sali on Thursday said the country needs a leader like Vice Presidential aspirant Sara Duterte who naturally “shares” and “cares” for Filipinos especially during this pandemic.

“Her sharing and caring nature are needed by the people who have suffered especially during the pandemic,” Sali said.

Sali, who has been a staunch supporter of Duterte long before she filed for vice presidency, also shares a deep connection with her in public service.

In September 2019, the province declared the Davao City mayor as its adopted daughter because of her “affection and concern” for Tawi-Tawi.

“She is an adopted daughter of Tawi-Tawi, and has shown her affection and concern for Tawi-Tawi way before this 2022 election,” Sali said.

The governor even recalled Duterte’s efforts in ensuring quality public service is delivered and that the people are able to benefit from government programs.

“She helped us with the establishment of the Malasakit Center. She even facilitated the transfer to the province ambulance and police motorcycles, which were originally donated to Davao City,” Sali added.

On March 16, Sali led the province’s leaders in meeting with Duterte as they pledged support for her candidacy.

“We expect her to share her experience and expertise as city mayor of Davao to the whole country,” Sali said during a private meeting with Duterte on March 16.

Nine of the province’s 11 mayors also attended the meeting.

In February, the Tawi-Tawi One Party (TOP) chaired by Governor Sali passed a resolution adopting Duterte as their Vice Presidential candidate in the May 9 elections.

Mayor Jimuel Que of the capital town Bongao said Duterte’s exemplary accomplishments and track record in Davao City make her the most qualified candidate to the post.

Running unopposed, Que assured that Tawi-Tawi will go all-out for Duterte.

“Full support yung buong Tawi-Tawi kay Mayor Sara and I am sure mananalo tayo,” he said.

Duterte thanked the provincial and town leaders supporting her cause.

Ferdinand Marcos Jr.) na magtulungan para sa bansa as president at vice president,” the mayor said.

Bong Go lauds achievements of the administration

As PRRD’s term nears end

Senator Christopher “Bong” Go commended the achievements of the administration led by President Rodrigo Duterte, noting that such feats would not have been possible if not for the hard work and synergy demonstrated by government officials, particularly the Cabinet members, amid the crises and challenges that confronted the country.

Go made the remarks during President Duterte’s Talk to the People address on Monday, February 28.

The senator also praised Duterte, stressing that the latter’s strong leadership and political will were crucial to the success of the administration’s efforts to provide a comfortable life for all Filipinos.

During the briefing, Duterte lauded Department of Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade, who reported on his department’s initiatives and accomplishments.

“Your passion for achievement has always been there,” the President told Tugade.

“I said I’m awed actually. I’m happy for the country that I got you,” he added.

Duterte likewise commended vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., Department of Education Secretary Leonor Briones, and Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Ramon Lopez.

As his term nears its end, Duterte remarked that it is important for the public to know that his Cabinet members have done their best for the sake of the country.

“‘That’s what I can show the people — that through you, we were able to deliver all these things that we see now,” said the President.

“At least, you have left something on your own. You have left a legacy,” he added.

Earlier, Go stated that Duterte did his best in serving the nation and that he will continue to do so till the end of his term, ensuring that no time is lost in serving the Filipino people.

Go added that the President will continue to serve the Filipino people while he facilitates a smooth transition of power to the next elected top leader of the nation.

“He will definitely continue to work until the last day of his term,” emphasized the senator.

Duterte was sworn in as the 16th President of the Philippines on June 30, 2016.

Mayor Sara Duterte Message
Mahalin Natin ang Pilipinas Ride Thanksgiving Dinner

Assalamulaikum. Madayaw. Maayong gabii sa tanan!!!

Finally, we are home. After 28 days of being away from the comforts our homes, away from our families — nakabalik na tayo.

I will never forger the warmth of the people we met along the way. And I will always remember the courage, the strength, and the resiliency they’ve shown us as we passed by — rain or shine.

Shukran. Daghang salamat!!!
